Chrysler is an American car manufacturer that became part of the Fiat Chrysler Group following the financial crisis.
The company was originally founded by railway engineer Walter P. Chrysler. In 1924 it introduced the Chrysler Six to the market, which sold a total of 32,000 models. There were already over 3,800 Chrysler dealers by the end of 1925. 1928 began the next big step in the company's development. In a stock swap Chrysler acquired the Dodge Brothers company – which was five times larger – and practically overnight it became the third-largest American car manufacturer.
As well as legendary vehicles like the Le Baron convertible, which was introduced in 1981, Chrysler also invented entire vehicle categories. In 1983 Chrysler introduced the Voyager minivan, which is still popular today, with an autobody that was previously unknown and became extremely popular from then on. Chrysler continues to offer its Voyager with unending success, even though the vehicle is now sold in the USA as the Chrysler Town & Country. Whether the Voyager, Grand Voyager or Town & Country, almost ten million vehicles have been sold to date. The 2.5 CRD and 2.8 CRD engines in the Voyager and Grand Voyager have enjoyed immense popularity at RaceChip. With the current Grand Voyager model, the power of the 2.5 CRD – with standard 143 HP and 320 Nm – can be improved with RaceChip Pro 2 to 186 HP and more than 400 Nm torque. This gives your family van sufficient power to bring your family quickly and safely to your destination. In the 2.8 CRD the standard power can be improved with our Ultimate chip tuning specially designed for Chrysler engines from 163 HP and 360 Nm to 194 HP and a whopping 446 Nm.
The next acquisition for Chrysler came in 1987, when another legendary brand joined the company. Through the American Motors Corporation (AMC) Chrysler acquired the Jeep brand, which is known especially for its SUVs.
In the 1990s, Chrysler ushered in another expansion to its product portfolio. The result was the Chrysler brand's luxury saloon, the 300M, which to this today still remains a popular model with American automobile design fans.
In the new millennium – then under the umbrella of DaimlerChrysler – new models like the PT Cruiser appeared. In 1998, one year before its 75th jubilee, the Chrysler Corporation merged with Daimler-Benz AG to become DaimlerChrysler AG. Besides the PT Cruiser, which was also offered as a roadster, other models rolled out for the 21st century such as the Sebring, the Crossfire sports coupe (also available as a roadster) and the new models in the 300 series, the 300C and the 300C Touring. We also offer our RaceChip engine tuning specially adapted for these models. With the Ultimate in your Chrysler 300C with 3.0 CRDI engine you can achieve 66 more HP and 154 Nm more torque. From a standard 239 HP, this becomes 305 HP, and torque increases from 550 Nm to an impressive 704 Nm. Your 300C will offer a driving experience on a whole new level.
After the marriage with Daimler and a brief mingling with financial investor Cerberus, Fiat has now assumed management of Chrysler, and the brands from both companies are now based under the umbrella of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).
